WAGS Code of Conduct

The main goal of WAGS is to create the best possible experience for its players, managers, umpires, and coaches. To that end, parents, players and fans are expected to provide positive support, care and encouragement for all participants by following this code of conduct:

  • Encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating support for all players, coaches and officials at every game, practice or other sports events.
  • Treat players, coaches, fans and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed or ability.  • Place the emotional and physical well being of players ahead of any personal desire to win.
  • Expect a drug and alcohol-free sports environment and agree to assist by refraining from their use at all youth sports events.
  • Do one’s best to make the sport fun for the children and all others participating.
  • Remember that this game is for the children and not the adults.
  • Calmly seek solutions to identified problems or concerns at a proper time and place, while refraining from any and all confrontations in front of the children.
  • Understand that the umpire is in charge of the game and the WAGS Board of Directors is in charge of the fields and the league. If asked to leave the game or fields, the individual(s) shall follow the request and leave immediately.
  • Behavior that is detrimental to ANY player, coach, parent, family, etc. or shows disrespect for the league and/or the game will not be tolerated.
  • Abide by the USA Softball SoCal Code of Conduct which can be read at SoCal C.O.C. and the USA Softball SoCal Code of Ethics which can be read at SoCal_C.O.E.
  • Conduct oneself in a manner that demonstrates the standards established in this Code of Conduct. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in disciplinary action taken by the WAGS Board of Directors that may include, but is not limited to: Game(s) Suspension, Season Suspension, or Permanent Suspension from the WAGS league and fields.
